Fables by Barrie

So this is not a makeup and/or hair post, this is about well fashion! And I decided to make this first post about a brand I found out on unique-vintage a long time ago and that is an etsy seller with a LOT of cute swimwear based on the pin-up times! Her model is no other than Bernie Dexter! You might or might not have heard about her, she is very well know for her strikingly resemblance to Bettie Page. But I leave that to you to see. This is Bettie page:

This is Bernie Dexter:

Anyway this is getting a bit off-topic! So I got a Sailor monokini on unique-vintage of Barrie Retro. It was gorgeous but well I am more of a bikini girl and I don't use red all that much so I am afraid I never used it before. I had to slightly change it because the length of the fabric on the neckline was too big and so I just unstitched it and then sew it separately so I could tie it behind the neck at the measure I need/want. Here is the monokini I have:

As you can see it is a really cute sailor monokini, from the back looks like a bikini, front a swimsuit, it has three anchor buttons on the navy blue bit, then a red stripe then white on the chest area. The fabric is gorgeous, stretchy and very shiny! And I believe it looks great on anyone! It was over $100 though. A bit pricey I guess but it is an indie designer, it is great quality and she is making her brand. Oh and did I mention that on the label it is polka dotted and has a bear and a turtle holding hands? It is so cute!

Anyway I leave you with a link to this brand: Fables by Barrie
and a few more cute swimwear by them:

Two new lipsticks from Lime Crime

They just arrived in the mail. I will review them soon! Enjoy the picture:

Airbourne Unicorn (the one I already had, the purple with pink undertones) Coquette (the nude one) and Mint To Be (the mint green one)

About hair dye

So since I get asked this quite a lot, I  am going to do a small post about dying your hair. First of all if you want a strong colour, bleach it. Now I do NOT advise you to bleach at home for it is a process that damages your hair. I advise going to a salon. Even if it is just the roots. Truth is while some people can bleach their hair and roots nicely, most people can't and wreck their hair. So yeah, now you have beautiful blonde hair. With luck platinum blonde. If you were one of the lucky ones you don't need to do a white toning. If you were one of the unlucky yellow-blonde ones. you need to do this. So let's talk about toner. Personally I used and liked Directions white toner.

Yes, it looks purple. Not as purple as in this picture though. The purple is to cancel the yellow. Do NOT use if you have platinum hair already! It will give it a purple stain!

So you got your platinum/white hair. Now it's time to dye your hair in the colour you want.
The colours I have used are: Stargazer Magenta, Stargazer Hot pink, Stargazer baby pink and Directions Carnation dye.

Those are:

and since I couldn't find a bottle + swatch of directions dye, I leave you with the whole directions collection swatches:

So yeah you put this in your hair and leave it for at most 30 min and rinse. These dyes are demi-permanent (last 7 washes) and are conditioned. If you want to spare some money you can mix a darker pink with conditioner to get a pale pink. I do advise this if you want baby pink. Buy the stargazer magenta or directions cerise and mix with conditioner (white conditioner, obviously) until it is the tone you want and then use it.

If you want a more permanent hair dye. Use pravana vivids. and I advise you to watch this video by the talented nikkilipstick:

Also I do advise to buy an anti-break product. I use Redkens Extreme Anti-snap. Smells good. Can use daily. Only have to apply in the length of the hair. No need to wash the hair. So this product is really good. Also I advise using a colour-friendly shampoo and conditioner.

Hope this clears everyone's hair doubts on how did I get some shade of pink hair. Those were all the products I used. On the photoshot with lighter hair it was obviously the baby pink. The darker was magenta, the middle was shocking pink and the other one that was a pink with some peach undertones was carnation pink.

Lime Crime Review

So here is another review, this time on Lime Crime. So far I only have three products of them but I just recently ordered 2 more products, the Coquette and Mint To Be Limited Edition Lipsticks.
So here are my products:

I have used all of them quite a few times.

The Candy Eyed Primer is probably one of the best if not the best eye primer in the market and it works wonderfully on my skin tone because it is very light so I blend it in my eyelid and then use my shadows. It is a bit on the thicker side but you get used to it and I assure you this primer can keep your eye makeup in place all day! Here is the primer swatch:

The Airbourne Unicorn Lipstick is a really pretty lilac lipstick with pink undertones. It was my first try at an out-of-the-ordinary lipstick and it is incredible how easy it is to pull it off, mostly thanks to the pink undertones. It is a bit thick but it has a very good wear. If you only want to give a small purple gleam to your lips you can take the excess off with a napkin for this lipstick is very opaque. Here is its swatch:

Last but not least I have the Abracadabra loose pigment eyeshadow. It is a very hot pink that is very pigmented and will look really strong even without primer (however, quite obviously, without primer it will not stay in place all day). Here is its swatch:

Decofrill Products

So there is this shop where you can find really sweet products at even sweeter prices. The shop is Decofrill
I only have items from the sweet collection and here are the ones I got:

Fire Eyes

So this is my first tutorial of a look I have been using, first let me tell you everything I used here (besides my hidrating face cream)
-Lime Crime Candy Eyed (eye primer)
-Too Faced Lip Injection (Lip Plumper)
-Benefit Cosmetics Erase Paste (councealer)
-Benefit Some kind-a gorgeous lite (foundation)
-Too Faced Leopard Love Pallete (brighter, bronzer and blush)
-Eyeko Cream Extra Glow
-Eyeko Vintage Polish (I do not have a picture of my nails once painted with it though, but it is exacly the same as in the vial)
-Sugarpill Burning Heart Pallete (Poison Plum, Love+, Flamepoint, Buttercupcake)
-Bourjois Liquid Eyeliner
-The Body Shop Super Volume Mascara in Blue
-Lime Crime Airbourne Unicorn Lipstick
-The Body Shop Travel Brush Set
-Bourjois Kabuki brush
--
So now going to the tutorial.
-First I putted on my Erase Paste (with my fingertips) to remove my "raccoon eyes" and in some parts of my face (around the nose mostly) to give my face a matte finish.

-Then I got my foundation on, my Some Kind-a Gorgeous Lite, with its applicator. To give my skin an even tone.

-Then I used my Leopard Love palette with my bourjois kabuki brush, firstly a bit ofbronzer all over my face and neck area; then the brighter in my nose, chin, above my cupid's bow, forehead and above my cheekbones; after that I used the blush on my cheekbones)

-Then I used my Eyeko Cream Extra Glow with my fingertips in the upper side of my cheekbones, a bit on the nose, a little bit on forehead, chin and above the cupid's bow, in a smaller area then I used the brighter just before.

-After I got my Lime Crime Candy Eyed Primer to make sure my eyeshadow will stay in place all day. I used my fingertips to take it and spread it across my eyelids.

-Afterwards I started the eyes. I started by using The Body Shop Eye Brush in theSugarpill Burning Heart Pallete Buttercupcake shadow. I painted with it the outtermost corner of my eye.

-After that I cleaned my brush and used it this time on the Flamepoint Shadow. I used it right after Buttercupcake and a bit above and blended it with the brush.

-Then I cleaned the brush again and this time I used Love+ Shadow. I did it a bit over Flamepoint and going to the innermost corner of my eye.

-To finish my upper lid eyeshadow base I once again cleaned the brush and usedPoison Plum Shadow. On the inner corner of my eye and a bit over Love+.

-After this was done I got my The Body Shop Angled Brush and used it on Buttercupcake Shadow. I drew a thin line on  the inner corner of my lower lid, just bellow my lower eyelashes.

-Once this was done I used the same brush but this time on Poison Plum Shadow. This time I did a thin line on the outer corner of my lower lid.

-Now I got my Bourjois Liquid Eyeliner. First I drew a line from the middle of my eyelid to the inner corner then the other half of the eye and the small twist.

-To end the eyes I used my The Body Shop Super Volume Mascara in 03 Blue on my eyelashes.

So the eyes ended up like this:

-To finish the look I used Lime Crime Airbourne Unicorn Lipstick  with Too Faced Lip Injection over it to get fuller lips and Eyeko Vintage Polish on my nails.

And the finished look looked like this:

(I took with a paper the excess lipstick to give my lips just a purple gleam and not get them all purple)

Eyeko Beauty Review

I have started purchasing makeup from this brand a few months ago. The brand logo caught my attention and I decided to try it out. And I was not disappointed. So let me show you what I got and explain a couple of things when you order from them.
1.Nailpolishes:

  • Vintage Polish:
    •  This is a jade green nailpolish. I really like it and it is the one I have used the most. It gets opaque at the 2nd coat. On the label it says it is for elegant nails and it has a bird cage.
  • Rain Polish:
    • This one is a grayish light blue. This is the one I am currently using and I am loving it. It was opaque at the 2nd coat. On the label it says that it is for city nails. It has an image of the london eye and big ben.
  • Lilac Polish
    • It is a lovely shade of lilac. I do not know if it gets opaque at the 2nd coat for I haven't used it yet, but I believe so. It says it is for lovely nails and it has ornaments around its name. It is really pretty.
  • Punk Polish
    • This is a hot/neon pink nailpolish. I love it. It gets opaque at the 2nd coat. It says it is for neon nails and has the UK flag in purple and pink.
  • Chi Chi Polish:
    •  This is probably the glitter nailpolish I found that has the most glitter. At the 2nd or 3rd coat you cannot see nail, only glitter. It is a peachy pink colour. It says it is for girly nails and the image is that of a poodle.
2.Eyeko Creams:
  • Tinted Cream:
    •
    •   (this is without blending)
    • This is a cream that works as a bronzer, eye cream and moisturizer. It looks dark but if you blend it, it looks just perfect to create an healthy sun touched look. I am very fair and when I blend it, it is perfect.
  • Cream with Extra Glow
    • (without blending)
    • This is a light pink cream great for highlighting! It is also a moisturizer and eye cream. It has a silvery sparkle. Will work good as a less obvious body shimmer.
3. Lipsticks & Lip balm:
  • Frosting Fat Balm
    • This keeps your lips very moisturized and smells like cupcake frosting, it can also be used as a blush, what more can you want?
  • London Lips Primrose Hill:
    •
    • Very nice light pink gloss with some golden shine. Really lovely! This was my first sale ambassador gift!
  • Liptastic Glossy Lip Pen Hot Lips
    • This is a lipliner/lipstick, it is in a fuchsia colour. It looks really pretty. This was a gift for making a purchase of more than 18€( $20/15£) and putting an Ambassador Code at checkout
4. Blush:
  • Cheeky Colour Make Out Blush:
    •  (without blending)
    • This was a gift as well. It is a nice warm pink and dark red-ish pink blush. It looks great when blended and it has a mirror and a brush. It is perfect to get that doll look.
5. Eyeliner and Mascara:
  • Graffiti Eyeliner Pen Fierce Purple:
    •
    • This is a purple eyeliner pen, you don't need to shake it to get a even flow of ink, which is great. The ink flows nicely and you can get really thin lines. It is very easy to work with.
  • Magic Mascara
    • This is a black mascara, it works nicely but I find it pretty much alike any other good mascara. The big thing is the package, it has sakura flowers and a butterfly. It is a very pretty package and nice if you fix your makeup in public.
To finish if you want to buy from them and are doing a purchase over the amounts I said before you can use my ambassador code to get a free gift. It is: 13556
